Editorial purpose

Finpockett aims to make financial calculations and the concepts behind them easier to understand — through clear explanations, formulas, worked examples, interactive calculators, and references to authoritative sources where relevant.

Research standards

Where an article states a factual financial rule, rate or regulation, we prefer primary and authoritative sources over secondary commentary. Depending on the topic, that may include the Reserve Bank of India, SEBI, the Income Tax Department, CBDT, CBIC, PFRDA, EPFO, the Ministry of Finance, India Post, or other relevant official authorities. Not every article draws on every source — only the ones that actually support the information in that piece.

Calculation standards

Every calculator formula is implemented as a plain, isolated function and cross-checked against independently hand-calculated reference values before it ships. Articles that walk through a calculation disclose the formula, the assumptions used, and any relevant rates or periods, so the numbers can be reproduced rather than taken on faith.

Content review

Finpockett is an independently run project. Content and calculators are prepared with the help of research and drafting tools, including AI, but nothing is published without being checked — for calculation accuracy, source accuracy, and consistency with what’s actually on this site — before it goes live. We don’t claim an independent professional review panel, because we don’t have one; the accuracy standard here rests on the verifiable methodology described above, not on an appeal to credentials we don’t hold.

Updates

Time-sensitive content — tax slabs, government scheme rates, contribution limits, and similar — carries a "last updated" or "last reviewed" date. We aim to revisit that content when the underlying rules change, rather than refreshing dates without a genuine update.

Corrections

If something looks wrong — a formula, a figure, a source — we want to know. Visit Contact to report it.
