About Finpockett

Who builds this, why it exists, and how the numbers are kept accurate.

Who’s behind this

Finpockett is built and maintained by Vinit Kumar Singh, based in India. It’s an independent, single-person project — not a company with an editorial desk or a team of analysts. We think that’s worth saying plainly rather than dressing it up, because the accuracy of what’s here should rest on the methodology below, not on an appeal to a team that doesn’t exist.

Why Finpockett exists

Most calculators online sit inside a bank’s loan-application funnel or a broker’s sign-up flow, designed to move you toward a product. Finpockett was built to do one thing on its own: the maths, correctly, with no account, no email capture, and every calculation running in your browser rather than on a server.

How each calculator is built and checked

Every formula on this site is implemented as a plain, isolated function — no hidden logic — and cross-checked against independently hand-calculated reference values before it ships (for example, a ₹10,000/month SIP at 12% for 10 years is checked against the commonly-cited ₹23.2 lakh reference figure). Government-notified rates — PPF, SSY, NSC, SCSS, EPF, POMIS, and current income tax slabs — are sourced from the relevant official notification at the time each calculator is last updated, and shown with a "last updated" date so you know how current a default figure is. Every rate field remains editable, since these figures move quarterly or annually and a static page can’t update itself in real time.

What we’re not

Finpockett is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser, a tax practice, or a financial planning service. Nothing here is personalised advice — see our full Disclaimer for what that means in practice, calculator by calculator.
